Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome back to the new school year. I hope you are rested after the summer holiday and that the children are ready to face the new term with enthusiasm. I would like to particularly send a warm welcome to families who are new to our school.

I wanted to take the earliest opportunity to write to you as the new Acting Headteacher of St Mary’s School. I know that having a new headteacher is a big change for a school so I am eager to take every opportunity to meet and get to know as many of the children, parents, staff and governors over the next few weeks.

It is extremely important for me to provide a smooth transition for the children as their needs are always paramount in the life and decision making within a school. It is my aim to build on the secure foundations and current achievements of St Mary’s: we will continue to create a caring Christian community with exciting, creative and meaningful learning experiences, whereby the children will thrive and meet their full potential. Nurturing children’s faith will continue to be at the central part of the school’s mission and this will be reflected in all aspects of school life.

I have already met parents at the Intake Evening and Holy Communion Mass last term and I have spoken with many of you this week however, I would like to invite you to a ‘Meet the Headteacher’ meeting on Monday 10th September at 9am. This will give you the chance to share how you think we can build stronger links and partnerships with yourselves and within the community.

In the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries or concerns.

Year 6 Pupil's Welcome

Welcome to Saint Marys RC Primary school’s website. On our website you will find out more about the amazing things that we do at our lovely school, and the challenges we face in our learning.

In our school we have an amazing Buddy system. Each child has a special friend they call a Buddy, we spend time together each week and take care of each other during the school day.

We have spent time learning about the UN Child Rights, which are displayed around school. We have elected our pupil council who make sure that we are listened to and our views are respected. We also have a mission team, who work hard to help us follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

We are lucky to be close to our lovely church, where we attend mass with school each term. Father Leo loves to hear us sing, he makes us laugh. We take part in class assemblies regularly and celebrate Easter and Christmas with very special performances in Church and in our lovely hall.

We would like to say Welcome to our new Head teacher Miss Seedall; we hope that she settles in quickly and enjoys spending time with us in class and around school.

There are lots of school clubs we can join, like the STEM club, Art club, Sports Club and our most recent club our choir group.

We would love you to come and visit our school!
