At St Mary’s, PSHE and RSE are at the heart of our commitment to developing the whole child. Rooted in our Catholic ethos and values, our curriculum equips pupils with the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to thrive as confident, responsible and respectful citizens.
Through a carefully sequenced programme of learning, children develop their understanding of relationships, health and wellbeing, online safety, diversity, economic wellbeing and life in modern Britain. Learning is progressive from EYFS to Year 6, enabling pupils to build upon prior knowledge and develop the confidence to make informed decisions, manage risk, communicate effectively and contribute positively to their communities. Our curriculum promotes safeguarding, resilience, independence and respect for others, ensuring that pupils leave St Mary’s well prepared for the next stage of their education and for life beyond primary school.
As a result, pupils develop the character, confidence and emotional literacy needed to flourish academically, socially and spiritually, living out our mission to believe, achieve and flourish.
