Times Tables & Multiplication Check Information
In Year 4, learning times tables is a very important part of maths. Knowing multiplication facts quickly and accurately helps children with many areas of mathematics, including division, fractions, problem-solving and mental arithmetic. We encourage all children to practise their times tables regularly at home and at school so that they become confident and fluent. By the end of Year 4, children are expected to know all multiplication and division facts up to 12 × 12 and be able to recall them rapidly. Regular practice makes a huge difference, and mastering these facts will provide a strong foundation for future learning in maths.
